from Guardian at Breaking the Chain: Praise: I warmed up to this video after a while. The song was
a smart choice for Pirates of the Caribbean because you could effectively clip to
the lyrics. The video was full of action, though not necessarily all fighting. A
lot of it was just Jack Sparrow bouncing around and being weird, like he does best
*g* And I think that's fine; at least he was doing something, after all :-P The
video is pretty lighthearted and refreshing, plus you get to watch the two main
characters act like creatures.
Anything Negative: Hey, why is there booze and making out in this movie? I was
under the impression it was a kid's flick. Well, I think it's a bad influence for
parents. What are they trying to teach people!? *gasp* I'm shocked, really.
From Elion at Crystal Illusions: Great job Victoria, I love this video, the comedy in it, and how the song fit so well with Captain Jack Sparrow! You fit it so well with the scenes, and the editing was very smooth! I watched it, and just kept coming back to it!

Fist Watching
(I always let it load entirely before watching. It does the videos justice!)
Well, firstly, its obvious to see that you have a very good sense of timing and rhythm. Secondly, the song is very harsh for the theme, I don't really like it. Its very "lets scream into the mike while alot of heavy guitar goes on" type music! On hearing that song without the video I definitely would have thought, no way! That song is totally not a decent song for a POTC video, but I think you managed to pull it off.
Second Watching
When the first heavy beat came in near the beginning my though was "wow, nice action," as you used movement clips where you couldn't really see what was happening. This is perfect! It really works when there's so much action it really reflects the music. I like the choice of clips that make us laugh about Sparrow, like that sneaky smile before the beat comes in. That made me smile, as it was a good choice of clip to create a build up there.
Throughout the song, although I couldn't really hear any lyrics well, so at times it did feel like clips were just dragged in with no purpose, but towards the end I did realise they actually went with lyrics I couldn't hear!
I don't like that at some points you mix the clips rather than just have a clean cut. Why fade them together? That technique is mainly used for soft, romantic videos or something, and doesn't really go with the music.
I admit the bit where you've used two scenes and cut them alternatively really fits well with the music (this is directly after the clip with Elizabeth and Sparrow kissing) and where Sparrow is tied to the stick and falls down the cliff actually made me laugh out loud! ^_^ Good place to put it!
I like that near the end I hear the lyrics are "I'm crazy sometimes" (or something!) and you've shown images of Sparrow being his well... normal, crazy self, and your choice there is again very good. The blacking out of the clips when the final drum of the guitar goes on at the end of the song really finishes it off nicely, and its a good cliff hanger.
Summary
Nice editing, really, your choice of clips, sense of timing aswell as sense of humour are all good, but I'm not so keen on your choice of song. POTC is an amazing series of films and you did it justice in this one video but again, choose a song that's more related not just in lyrics, but music type, I think. ^_^
From Angel's Destiny Awards: Great video! The cutting was on time and the use of internal motion and camera angles throughout the video was awesome! Though, I do think that you could have used more fast cutting in some areas of the video to give it a little more edge.
